We welcome shift volunteers at the beginning of each semester – these wonderful people keep the centre open and running smoothly as a space for learning, organizing, and community-building around issues of women and feminism. They provide direct assistance, support and information to people who come into the centre.
Members of the organizing collective contribute to the collaborative process that guides the activities of the Centre. This includes discussing and making decisions about the purpose of the Centre, how it runs, what projects to support, how funds are secured and spent, and how the centre interacts with the campus and Edmonton communities. Contact us if you’re interested in volunteering in the collective and want to know what it involves.
Project and working group members organize and support action and activism around issues of gender, feminism, and oppression, and are part of a community network of people activating for change around these issues. Check out our list of working groups to see if anything tickles your fancy, or start your own working group around a project, event or idea.
We also have an announcements listserv on which we post info about happenings at the Women’s Centre and around town and country. To join this listserv, send a blank email to uofa_womens_centre_announce-subscribe@yahoogroups.ca.
Contact us or drop by the Centre for information on how to get involved.
